Harnessing The Power of Positivity to Navigate Dark Times with Lori Skala – Season #2 Episode #7

Harnessing The Power of Positivity to Navigate Dark Times: “Your darkest times lead you to your brightest ones.” – Lori Skala

Lori is a teacher, author, and cancer survivor who has harnessed the power of positivity. She learned how to turn her pain and adversity into something truly beautiful that would impact and be beneficial to cancer patients and rescue pups all over.

She tells the story of her cancer journey and how adopting a little pup named Rosie helped her (and others) through a very tough time. You will hear about little Rosie’s story of dealing with adversity as well and be inspired by how both Lori and Rosie truly embody positivity and resilience.

You will get to hear some important insight into the adoption process and her concern about getting a dog with a past. She later shares how she went on to inspire many more rescue adoptions as a result of her own experience.

Lori also shares how she first got the idea to write a children’s book from the perspective of her dog and why this book is such a key part of her mission to give back, support cancer research, and help with animal rescues.

Learn about why she considers herself a cancer “thriver” as well as what she wishes she had known before going through her cancer journey. She emphasizes the importance of letting people in to be a support system that can be there for you and help you through your dark times.

Don’t miss her important advice on how to best support others through their cancer journey and her tips for parents and teachers to help kids learn to navigate dark times in healthier ways.
