Table of Contents

There’s a popular juice out there that mixes peaches, strawberries, and pears. Kids love it, but it has no fiber and is a little too sweet. This peach strawberry smoothie combines the same flavors with whole ingredients that are full of nutrition, along with some hidden chia, a superfood that packs in a lot of calcium and omega-3. It’s a great one to make when you’re not in the mood for a green smoothie.

Where Did Smoothies Come from Anyway?

Smoothies started out as a health drink in the 1930s, but they only became popular in the 60s when health food stores started booming. Many of them started selling blended fruit and yogurt drinks, and they quickly became favorites for many looking for nutrition and flavor wrapped in a refreshing drink. But long gone are the days of the gritty smoothies; you can make super smooth ones that will rival any of the expensive concoctions you can buy at coffee shops.

Why A Vegan Peach Strawberry Smoothie?

Some people will tell you that it’s better to eat the fruits whole, and that’s not wrong. Eating fresh produce is great! But if you struggle with picky eaters and want to ensure they get enough vitamins, smoothies are one of the best ways to reach that goal. At my house, we use the blender and juicer nearly every day. This peach strawberry smoothie recipe, in particular, is a favorite because some of our little ones aren’t crazy about bananas.

What is chia gel?

Chia seeds are tiny superfood seeds that come from a plant. They are like magical little powerhouses full of nutrients! They can make children strong and healthy, but some might object to their gelatinous texture. If your household doesn’t object, you can sprinkle them on yogurt or make fun chia pudding. But if they aren’t big fans, don’t fret. Chia seeds have no flavor, and they turn to a gel when soaked, making them easy to add to this peach strawberry smoothie without anyone noticing.

What Other Ingredients Can I Use?

Smoothies are the easiest recipes to change up depending on what you have. A firm favorite with many is bananas, which add creaminess and texture. Blueberries are a great stand-in for strawberries, and nectarines are delicious stone fruits that are like peaches minus the fuzz. You can also use coconut water instead of regular water.

Peach Strawberry Smoothie: Not Just for Busy People

Smoothies are often advertised as being perfect for those of us who are often on the go. But they can be so much more than that. While cuddling up with a cup of hot cocoa and a book is great in the winter, you can snuggle with your children and a tall glass of fresh smoothie and catch up on what they did during the day too. “Smoothie Time” is a great time to sit back and talk about important things like the importance of Earth Day or how to be safe at home.
